Expeditions & Day Adventure

Sport Climbing, Alpine Climbing, Freeride, and Ski Touring Adventures.

If you dream of virgin powder, big-mountain descents, skiing active volcanoes, alpine routes, rock climbing, and legendary granite walls, Chile is your playground. We organize custom freeride expeditions, ski touring adventures, heliski trips, sport climbing, and alpine climbing expeditions on the world’s most famous walls, from the Central Andes to Patagonia.

Transport

If you don’t need a complete itinerary, but require a helicopter for your heliski trips or a snowcat for your guided backcountry at Ski Arpa in the Central Andes, we can help you with that too.

Snowcat for Ski Arpa

Ski Arpa is a unique backcountry ski center in Chile and South America. It is one of the few ski centers in the world 100% operated by snowcats. It functions as a freeride resort with snowcat access, without chairlifts or groomed runs.

  • The snowcat transports between 10 and 14 people, depending on the configuration.
  • The ascent takes on average 30 to 40 minutes, depending on snow conditions and the route.
  • The snowcat drops the group at the top of the skiable area (~3,600 m altitude).
  • A ski day at Arpa includes between 4 and 6 descents, depending on the group’s pace and snow stability.

Helicopter for Heli-Skiing

  1. The helicopter picks up the group at a base (usually a lodge, hotel, or nearby heliport).
  2. The drop points are defined by our mountain guides based on snow conditions, avalanche stability, and group level.
  3. The helicopter lands or hovers only on a specific peak or slope.
  • Typical capacity: 4 to 5 skiers + 1 guide per flight (in smaller models).
  • Heli-skiing is only conducted with specialized guides and pilots trained in high-mountain flying.
  • The safety briefing includes instructions for boarding/disembarking the aircraft in deep snow, behavior in rotor areas, and avalanche protocols.

Guide

We also have a team of Certified Guides (UIAGM/IFMGA) for your maximum safety, with extensive knowledge in both the Central Andes and Patagonia. If you already have everything planned and only need a guide to accompany you, we can also offer this service. Hiring a guide does not include logistics for transportation, food, or route planning. This service consists solely of professional accompaniment according to your itinerary, provided that your planning complies with safety regulations and required permits for the places of interest.

Mountain Training Programs

Throughout the year, we offer specialized training for adventure sports, including:

  • Backcountry skiing courses: From beginner to advanced levels, with specific modules on terrain assessment, avalanche reading, descent techniques in various snow conditions, and avalanche rescue.
  • Rock climbing workshops: Focused on traditional, sport, and multipitch climbing techniques, with emphasis on anchor systems and safety protocols.
  • Ice climbing training: Progressive programs covering everything from basic use of ice axes and crampons to advanced techniques for ice waterfall climbing and alpine corridors.

Our courses are taught by UIAGM/IFMGA-certified guides with international experience, using practical and progressive methodologies that guarantee effective learning. The idea is to promote technical knowledge so that the mountain community has increasing autonomy and we can minimize the risks of accidents in outdoor environments, creating a culture of safety and responsibility among practitioners of these sports.

Being in the mountains offers a different perspective on life, a unique way of perceiving and coexisting with it. When we visit these places, we learn about respect, how to relate to its inhabitants, and how to connect with the environment.
